Monday 6/29, almost missed my plane!

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

On 6/29 I Headed to the Dominican Republic (thanks for the ride Jules!) for a 11:00 flight.  Got to Logan at 9:20 and found out my flight was at 9:44 and was told my luggage would not make it.  Oh well, in my carry on was a bathing suit, flip flops, shorts and a top, and my camera… it would do.

The flights were great (Jet Blue of course!) and when I landed, my luggage was there!  The Santiago airport was probably the cleanest, most friendly and easiest airport I have ever flown into.

I immediately recognized Henry (front and center in the picture) who manages the Hacienda and off we went to Ensanada.  Henry, his wife Courtney (from Michigan) and I stopped for dinner thinking everyone staying at the hacienda would have eaten by the time we got there.  Not the case, so here is dinner number two!

South Shore Anchors
South Shore Anchors

On Saturday May 8th, I had the opportunity to teach 12 members of the South Shore Anchors Rugby team a Power Yoga class. They are division 2 and ranked 4th in the country and on 5/16/09 they made their way to Columbia, South Carolina to compete in the US Rugby National Sweet 16 Tournament. My goal was to show how yoga can give the athletes a competitive edge over their opponents with cross training and flexibility work. The Anchors finished 10th in the united States, Great Job Guys!!! And even though my new nickname is apparently “the devil”, I think they enjoyed the workout
