A pretty dreary beach day here in Hull/Nantasket Beach.

I am so excited for my trip to La Ensanada, Dominican Republic. I leave Monday morning and am flying into Santiago and then off to Hacienda Brisas Del Mar to plan a Fall yoga retreat. (more…)

Sometimes skip the workout and kick back

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

p6170005It was a tough decision last night.  One of my favorite yoga classes to take is Lyn’s Wedensday night 7:15 power class at Open Doors in Weymouth.  I was exhausted from 6 hectic days and I couldn’t decide, class or kick back?  So I listened to my body which said it was just too tired and chose to kick back, make some dinner, and have a glass of wine while watching the sunset.  I’m glad I didn’t miss this!

Colorado Day 3

Another morning at 24 hour Fitness…

p6130027Sometimes getting on the elliptical machine seems like such a chore.  If you get bored with your routine, try breaking it up into interval training.  Today I did the elliptical for 10 minutes followed by a  1/2 mile run and repeated it 5 times.  You don’t need to be at a gym, try running/walking/jump roping/plyometrics.  You could also try it with cardio and weight training.

In the afternoon I went to Nicole’s dress rehearsal with Off Broadway Academy of Dance, what an amazing show!  Following the show I headed back to Core Power Yoga and took a Yoga Fusion class.  I read the description and it sounded very appealing. The class I took wasn’t anything like it’s description, but…  any yoga is better than no yoga!

Colorado Day 2, good butt kicking!

Friday 6/12, up at 5:00am and off to Core Power Yoga in Parker for a “Yoga Sculpt” class with Terri.

I was looking for a Vinyasa Class but this worked into my schedule so yoga sculpt it was.  Class was a combination of yoga postures and muscle conditioning with weights, in the heat and steam of course.  I was sore from yesterday’s boot camp and then once again got my butt kicked!  From there I headed to 24 hour Fitness for an hour on the elliptical.

The rest of the day was spent with my niece Nicole, a typical girl’s day; nails, lunch and shopping.  After that, hip hop class.  From class we headed to our friends Al and Brenda’s restaurant, Al Vino’s Wine Bistro(more…)

Colorado Day 1

At 9:30 am on Thursday Morning, 6/11, I boarded a Jet Blue flight from Boston to Denver.  (Jet Blue is my favorite airline…I hate flying!)

img_0700My 7 year old Niece’s hip hop recital.  Well, actually I will see the dress rehearsal as they changed the date of the recital to Sunday and I am leaving Sunday afternoon.  It’s always crazy when I visit trying to fit in time with family and friends and still find time to workout but I do my best to fit in some yoga and some fitness workouts.  My membership to the Trails rec center expired in March so I called the new “Super” 24 hour fitness to inquire about a pass.  (more…)
